Bring it on, says Suzie.
With the decision for Toowoomba to host the equestrian events for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games, Toowoomba now needs to pursue the upgrade of the passenger rail link between Brisbane and Toowoomba.
Independent Candidate for Groom, Suzie Holt is delighted with the decision and will now seek to expedite the passenger rail link as a matter of urgency to ensure Toowoomba reaps the benefits both during the Games and as a legacy of the Games.
“Groom needs real investment in infrastructure to support economic growth, jobs, and future development. I will fight to deliver a passenger rail service between Brisbane and Toowoomba—a critical project that will strengthen our region and unlock new opportunities.
“As part of this vision, I will:
✅ Advocate for an intermodal transport hub at Withcott to improve connectivity and streamline passenger transport.
✅ Push for increased bus services up the Range and into surrounding areas as an immediate solution.
“I have spoken with Shayne Neumann, MP for Blair, who strongly supports this crucial plan.
“I am committed to advocating for the implementation of this much needed piece of infrastructure.
“Investing in transport infrastructure is vital for creating a brighter future—stimulating job growth, enhancing liveability, and ensuring that Groom continues to thrive as a key regional hub.
“Let's work together to make this vision a reality!” Ms Holt said.
