I was honoured to run as an Independent candidate for Groom in the last federal election, finishing second on a two-party preferred basis. While we didn’t win, the campaign sparked something powerful—a community-driven movement determined to make a difference. Since then, I’ve continued advocating for our region, driven by the same passion to create positive change.
Growing up in Brisbane and studying social work, I dedicated much of my career to regional Queensland, working in Charters Towers, Toowoomba, and across the Darling Downs in health, mental health, and aged care. These experiences shaped my understanding on how to support our communities, especially those often overlooked by traditional politics.
My husband Miles and I are proud to have raised our daughters, Lucy and Jemima, in Toowoomba. Like many families here, we’ve seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with living in regional Queensland. Through countless conversations and extensive research, it’s clear that our community deserves better federal representation—representation that listens, acts, and puts people before politics.
Groom’s residents have told us what they value: integrity, lived experience, local leadership, and trust in evidence-based policy. They want a representative who will fight for their needs, not party lines or corporate donors. That’s what I’m committed to.
#TeamSuzie isn’t just a campaign—it’s a coalition of trusted community members, local experts, and passionate volunteers who believe in a brighter future for Groom. Together, we’re building a movement that values every voice and embraces collaboration.
As your representative, I won’t just work for you. I will work with you, side by side, to ensure our region thrives. It’s time for a new kind of politics—one driven by community, compassion, and courage.
