Meet Suzie Holt

After growing up in Brisbane and studying social work, I worked primarily in regional Queensland, including Charters Towers, Toowoomba and the broader Darling Downs region in the health, mental health, and aged-care sectors. My husband Miles and I have raised our girls, Lucy and Jemima, in Toowoomba.

I have seen that our region needs better Federal representation. At the end of 2020, my family and I reached out to the community with the aim of improving local political engagement. We were drawn to the “Voices” model of community consultation, engagement and representation. The founding members of Voices of Groom came together in January 2021 to form the first Voices group in Queensland.

Since then, our research and community conversations across the entire electorate of Groom show that our community values integrity, life experience, local representation and trust in science. They want their representative to value them and the region more than party lines and donor interests.

#TeamSuzie is a group of trusted community members and local experts that has formed to support me. I believe in a democratic system that represents and values all voices in our community. As your representative, I won’t just work for you, I will work with you and beside you.
