Failure To Get Inland Rail Project Back On Track

Independent candidate for Groom, Suzie Holt, has expressed disappointment at the Federal Member’s ongoing failure to deliver critical progress on the Inland Rail project.

Independent candidate for Groom, Suzie Holt, has expressed disappointment at the Federal Member’s ongoing failure to deliver critical progress on the Inland Rail project, despite being in parliament for nearly five years.

“The people of Groom deserve better. We made this seat marginal to ensure our voices would be heard and our needs met. Yet, despite having every opportunity to deliver real progress, the Federal Member has failed to bring major infrastructure investment to the region, including getting the Inland Rail project back on track,” Ms. Holt said.

Ms. Holt noted that the Federal Member has also failed to listen to the community’s concerns regarding the most appropriate route for the Inland Rail project.

“Our region deserves leadership that listens and acts. Instead, we have been left with empty promises and a lack of genuine consultation,” she said.

“We have been working across the political divide to make this investment a reality, but the Federal Member’s lack of effective engagement and leadership has stalled progress. The Inland Rail project is essential for our economic future, and continued inaction only hurts our community.”

“Being in opposition is no excuse to sit on your hands”.

Ms. Holt emphasised her commitment to ensuring Groom’s interests are prioritised in national discussions, advocating for real progress and collaboration to deliver outcomes for the region.

“We deserve leadership that delivers. It’s time to ensure our region is no longer left behind,” Ms. Holt added.

“Groom is tired of being taken for granted”.
